"I have recently purchased and used the Bayer A1C now test at home. Does anyone know how accurate these are and if they are comparable to a lab test?"
Asked By: skwright2001

Background Info Hide
I am a type 2 diabetic. The last lab I had was 6.7. After switching from Glucophage to Januvia and losing about 20 pounds the A1C Now reported a level of 6.0.

Good question. I have been using the A1C Now for testing in our classes for over a year and find them to be very accurate & comparable to lab readings when using proper technique and keeping them at the advised temperature in storage. I think it is a great way to follow up on your A1C, but do not skip your schedule health care provider visits! Numbers are only tools & are not a substitute for professional medical care!
