Dear gbgray118, The term borderline doesn't really mean much and usually is used when the doctor doesn't want to tell someone that they are developing diabetes. There are lab numbers used to diagnose diabetes. Different ranges of the glucose labs indicate where the person is on this continuum. The closest thing to "borderline" is pre-diabetes, which is a fasting glucose from 100-125. However, I would ask my doctor to share my labs with me and be sure where your glucose is. Don't count on it being in the pre-diabetes range, because I have seen many cases where it was much higher. Anyway, start eating fewer carbohdyrates and increase your exercise and try to maintain yourself without the use of diabetes medications.

The term borderline is not being used any longer prediabetic or diabetic is. I have two releatives told they were borderline so to them it mean you can skate. Oh totally wrong now there full blown type 2 diabetics.
