The mechanical action of the auto insertion devise of the Omni Pod may contribute to your bruising, although in most cases it does not. The depth of the cannula, once it is under your skin, may also place the cannula tip at a depth where you have more blood vessels that could be nicked at time of insertion, or cause bleeding due to irritation from the cannula itself. It is also possible that some areas of your body would be less prone to bruising than others. It would be interesting to see if you could trial the use of a loaner pump which allows for selection of different lengths and types of infusion sets, to see if your body responds in a similar manner. It is also important for you to notify your Doctor of the bruising you are experiencing, as there may be physiologic concerns that need to be addressed. Best to you in your search for answers!
