I have been a type 2 diabetic since 2003. I have just tried to wish it away for this long . I now take 15 units of lantis at night and juniva 100 mg in the morning and I do not see low or normal ranges. If I have stored sugar in my liver making my numbers high how can i burn that up? Is there something I can take. My last A!C was 8.6. I try to exercise and have heel spurs arch issues and knee issues I hurt I have bunions with artritis so what can I do? I get so upset I cry...

Well it is easy to get frustrated and upset when you are putting work into trying to control your diabetes and then seeing no positive results. I would encourage you to discuss your concerns with your physician because there may need to be dose adjustments to both your insulin and januvia. If those 2 medications are not working then another medication regimen may help you to achieve better control. With your A1C of 8.6% you still have room for improvement to get closer to 7%. When you discuss your blood sugars and medications with your doctor see if he/she also has specific recommendations for exercise that you can do with your physical limitations such as heel spurs. Potentially you could be referred to an exercise physiciologist who could help you come up with a regular work out routine. Do not be afraid to ask questions! It is your health and clearly you are desiring better diabetes control. I think you could also benefit from meeting with a diabetes educator to voice your questions and see how to handle exercise with your medications as well. Good luck on your quest for better health.
