Dear samsworld. Everyone is watching the distribution of the H1N1 vaccine. Because it is being distributed in small amounts accross the country, some sort of rules had to be suggested to prioritize people by risk factors because there is not enough vacine right now for everyone. Hopefully you will be able to get a shot in a few weeks when the supply increases. We are recommending that people with diabetes get vaccinated. If one vaccination site won't let you have a shot, you may find another site does. So, call around and check with your Visiting Nurse Association and see when they are having public clinics. Many of these clinics are free or very low cost. So, don't give up, just check around for other options.
