Background Info Hide
Diagnosed about a year and half ago. Started first just on Metformin 500 MG x2, now 1000 MG X2 and NOW on Byetta about 5 months ago 5 mcg x2 times per day, Approx 5-6 weeks ago started on 10 mcg X2. 4 weeks ago started with this pain in my UPPER RTback between shoulder blade are. Thought it was a musclular type pain. Then it started moving to the right side intermittently. Within 2 weeks it moved in the front and side. My physician ordered Chest/Rib xrays, normal. Intensity increased and constant pain. Doctor ordered CT abdom/pelvic scan and abdom US everything normal did see significant arthritis in back area. Nothing with pancreas, kidneys, bladder or galllbladder. No pancreatisis, all bloodwork was normal. Physician mentioned a prescription pain medication to start to see if this offers any relief.

Dear Debbiemac:
Although the pain you're experiencing may not be related to the use of Byetta, my suggestion to you is to discuss with the doctor the possibility of going back to the 5mcg. dose or stopping the Byetta altogether to see if the pain goes away. Do you suffer from arthritis or is this something new to you? If this is a chronic condition, you may need medication for pain and/or inflammation.
