Dear Jan12lyn- I am sorry that you have to contact dLife for such an emotional and sad issue. What happens if you stop taking your insulin is that your glucose levels will elevate. Glucose levels that are out of target range can quickly lead to difficulties with your vision, circulation numbness in your hands and feet, difficulty with your heart and kidneys.

Please take a look at the prescription assistance programs on the Novo nordisk site to see if you qualify for assistance to get your medications.

I would also discuss with your private MD to see if he will talk to your husband to stress to him the importance of your medication management. This is vital for your future health.

This may be the time for counseling for both you and your husband since he is withholding necessary funding for your health and welfare.

Please seek guidance from your physician clergy or employee assistance program to get the necessary medications you need and the freedom for self management. Take care

I am truly sorry your husband doesnt understand this is a life threatening situation. He should know better but he must not know what can happen. Call your docs office and explain, many times they have insulin to give out that they get from the drug reps, I have had docs do that for me several times and I never even asked.
