Soy sauce is produced by fermenting soybeans. There are many different types of soy sauce. Many soy sauces contain little or no soy at all. They are made from fermented wheat. It's important to read the label if you have any sensitivities to either wheat or soy.
Some soy sauces are made from hydrolyzed soy protein and are colored with caramel coloring.
There may be one or more chemical in the soy sauce that interferes with your ability to digest it. The same chemical might occur in other soy products.
You would be surprised to learn that many commercially prepared foods already contain soy. Check out the food labels. You might have been eating soy all this time and not even know it. This might possibly mean that it's not the soy, but other affending chemical(s) in preparing the soy sauce.
Not knowing the specific chemical in soy sauce, I hesitate to encourage you to eat other soy products.
If you decide to experiment with soy milk, sample only a very small portion and monitor your blood glucose (sugar) levels. Also note any symptoms. Some people can easily handle smaller portions.
