Hello coachone
Your background information is contradictory. You list a problem with increasing waist size and sabatoging your diet, then say you are in great shape. I commend your activity of hiking with your granddaughter because you enjoy this activity and therefor will do it often I hope. It is recommended to exercise moderately 30 minutes a day at least 5 days a week with no more than 2 days in a row without exercise. Are you hiking that often? If not, try a brisk walk .

Waist circumferance is a good indication of what shape you are in. Females should be 35 inches or less, with Asian woman 30 inches or less. Men should be 40 inches or less with Asian men 35 inches or less. Abdominal girth indicates viseral fat that increases risk of heart problems and other complications. Try setting a goal based on your waist size instead of your weight.

Your diet is hard to stick with and you are self-sabotaging. Do not deny yourself something you really want but just have a taste of it! Keep up your exercise!
