Is turkey good for someone with high cholesterol? Mine is 229. I would like to try turkey sausage for breakfast. Right now I only have toast.

Thanks for bringing your question to dLife.

By reducing the total fat, saturated fat, and trans fat in the diet, people with high cholesterol will notice an improvement in their lipid profile. Check the food labels. Avoid palm oil, coconut oil, hydrogenated fat, and partially hydrogenated fats if found in the ingredient list.

Turkey sausage varies in their fat content. Select the one that you like that has the lowest fat content. This also applies to other foods you eat.

Be sure to include regular physical activity as part of the treatment plan to reduce your cholesterol.

Lifestyle changes (diet and exercise) are the foundation for cholesterol control.
