Hello PamelaFay;
Great job with the weight loss, and I'm certain you are following up with the appropriate medical disciplines for continued management considering your history. While we definitely cannot diagnosis simply from the symptoms you describe, "Foaming urine". I can speculate upon some potential causes. You indicate a weight loss of 93#, while a huge accomplishment, (no pun intended), I do have some questions. Over what period of time have you incurred this loss? Recommendation for successful weight loss change is 1-2#/week.
  • What are your current blood glucose readings? (Frequently, if your numbers are high this foaming characteristic could be due to ketone production), (have you tested your urine for ketones in the urine)? Ketones are acid and toxic, and if present in the urine generate a unique odor.
  • While, weight loss results in
  • reducing insulin resistance,
  • lessens stress to the heart, (as you indicate a past history of cardiac involvement), can
  • result in blood pressure reductions, (all risk factors associated with diabetes), depending on how you accomplished could present risks for other health factors. Please do not misinterpret, weight loss is very difficult to achieve and once you've done this, maintaining it and staying "healthy" are key!!!

    So, the foaming could from the presence of ketones, are possibly you have bacteria in the urine, or someone left a cleaner in the toilet, and the forming action could be due to that. Sorry, I must recommend you get a medical evaluation as to discern specifics.

  • Arm yourself with your log book with your glucose numbers,
  • if you have keto-sticks-check the urine for ketones
  • obtain a nutrient analysis from www. Fitday.com via a 1-2 day food recall self-assessment,
  • make that appointment with your PCP/Endocrinologist/Cardiologist for continued evaluation.
    Be your best.
