Hello jamaaltyrik
Your dedication to your son is commendable. I agree with a complicated case like this, it is in his best interest that he is cared for by you as you know his reactions and have experience with his labile glucose levels. You need to apply for medical assistance for your son through your state. You probably will have to go through your county public assistance office. I do not know your financial situation for your self and your other children, but I think that your son would be covered under catastrophic illness. If you do not know how to apply, you can ask for assistance through legal aide in your state or county. When you get medical coverage for your child, see if your state has a waiver for in home medical aide. You may qualify as his caregiver and may be able to get a small fee. Every state is different. The legal aid lawyer may know about this or your county assistance worker may be able to help you.

I celebrate your proactive stance in contacting your congressman/woman. You are a great advocate for your child. Contact companies that manufacture pumps on-line or call or e-mail them with your son's history. They may be able to help or may be interested in placing your son in clinical trials.

I also recommend that you get connected with American Diabetes Association, and with the Center for Disease Control. Both have web sites that can direct you to clinical trials that may be of interest to you.

We are on the forefront of great advances in care and are researching towards a cure. It is my greatest hope that your son will see these advances and will benefit from them. That is why I encourage you to let everyone know about him. Make sure the researchers out there know him by name. He could help them as much as they will try to help him.

Your case is so special and so inspiring that it could benefit parents out there. Think about sharing your experiences on dLife blogs. This will help someone out there that thinks they are alone.
