"my diabetes is out of control. i have little time for exercise which has helped immensely in the past. are there any other suggestions?"

Background Info Hide
I was diagnosed with type1 diabetes 2years ago. I am 22. I have started a demanding new job and a degree at night. My control was never perfect but before this exercise helped immensely in getting my blood sugars under control. It is now not unusual for me to have readings in the 20's or sometimes even 30's. I am scared of what this could do long term. My last HBC1A was 10.4 down from 12.6. Not great but at least it was improving. Im afraid that this will have risen again.

Dear reader, Your blood sugar control is not good. You are dangering your health at the present time. You won't do well at school or during your day time activities if you don't get your diabetes under control. As a type 1, you need to take insulin. There are flexible insulin regimens that can match your hectic lifestyle. Discuss the use of a basal insulin and mealtime insulin with your physician. Ask to be referred to a diabetes education team to help you review how to manage your diabetes. Do this now! Don't wait till it is convenient.
