Hello RosemarieZee: How are the blood glucose numbers??? This is very important as to discern your symptoms of swelling, redness, hot to the touch, painful and blisters. Redness, swelling and hot to the touch suggests an infection, (we can not diagnosis here), when it is an infection you generally see a rise in the BG nos. as compared to your normal. Keeping records are very important, especially during illness, injury, severe stressors and if you have surgery. The symptoms you describe are somewhat similar to those defined with cellulites, bacterial infection requiring immediate medical attention. Swelling can be due to several reasons, an allergic reaction being one.
  • Ty2 testing, during these flare ups, provide a great deal of insight into body functions, swelling occurs with allergic reactions but, not usually "hot to the touch". Medical attention is definitely indicated if you have not done so already. Several skin conditions are described being due to uncontrolled diabetes. Take care and call on dLife as need.
