Dear grannyof2, Yes, the diet usually recommended for use for Type 2 diabetes should be appropriate for a fatty liver and higher blood sugar. You want a low fat diet and low alcohol and low sugar diet. So, a diet with low fat meat, minimal fat used on foods such as bread, lots of vegetables and some fruit daily is a good place to begin. Also use lowfat dairy products to lower the fat content of the diet. Losing weight will help the liver get rid of fat. You want to do that before damage has been caused permanently to the liver. Exercise is helpful to lose weight, too.
