Dear andreas1,

Thank you for writing dLIfe.

Yes, you can get the nutrition facts information, including carbohydrate, for every item that appears on the school lunch menu. Just contact the school food service director and he or she will be able to provide you with the information.

Many school districts actually post the nutritional analysis of the lunch menu on their web site, so you might want to start your search there.

Good Luck!

Most schools do not provide nutritional information. I have had to drive to my son's schools everyday since first grade to figure out the carbs they are feeding him. On average his meals are 130 carbs and 35-55 in fat content. I have contacted the food service directors whe have had 2 and get some information but it is not useful because they have several vendors for bread, milk,,,, never mind the rest of the menu. I belong to a mother's of diabetics group nationwide and not one of us has gotten a complete nutritional listing. I carry around my Calorie King book it is the most accurate listing that I personally have found. Good Luck,
