Dear alexxdr, There is an American Disability Act that spells out the rights of people with disabilities so they cannot be disciminated against. Your diabetes should be covered by this act. Personally, I think you need to sit down with someone like a union representative and discuss your needs and accommodations with your supervisor. Having someone else at the talks will help you negotiate accommodations within the scope of the act and ensure that the agreed-upon conditions are then adhered to.
