"Is plant based omega-3 as effective as fish oil omega-3?"

I don't like fish oil capsules but get DHA omega-3 (plant based/vegetarian) omega-3 in the brand of 2% milk I use. I usually have 2 cups per day. There's no indication in the nutrition information on how much DHA omega-3 is in each serving.

Dear clung, You seem to know quite a bit about omega-3 fatty acids and which foods contain them. The DHA form is the most easily used by the body. If your milk is supplemented with DHA, you are getting a good supplement. If you don't like fish oil, there are many foods that contain omega 3 fatty acids. dLife has an information search engine that you can enter omega 3 fatty acids and get more information regarding good sources. You might like to eat more fish, too, and forget the fish oil capsules. A couple of my favority fish have a lot of the omega 3 fatty acids, namely salmon and trout. Be sure you ask your doctor to give you feedback regarding your lipid lab values so you can see the effect of making changes in your diet.
