"Would me asking my doctor to place me on Byetta help me with my weight problem?"

I am a type 2 diabetic and have been on a insulin pump for over a year now. I am weighing in at about 191-199 lbs. and I am only 5'41/2" tall.

Hello,

Thanks for bringing your question to dLife.

Weight control can be very challenging, especially for people with diabetes.

Byetta is indicated for people with diabetes on specified oral diabetes medication. Since the concurrent use of Byetta with insulin has not been studied, it may not be appropriate to add this medicine to your insulin pump therapy.

I sugggest that you talk with your doctor about your concerns. He or she can explore treatment options for weight control with you.

Are you following a meal and exercise plan? If not, consider talking with a registered dietitian about establishing one that fits your lifestyle.

My answer would be its worth a try and if you can control without the insulin thats great. I lost 14 lbs on it I have heard of others that lost 80 lbs on it.
