"Why are my numbers still high in the morning (126-147). What can i do to change this. I have been exercising. "

I take metformin with my supper meal and can test 2 hours later and it will be 104. I have tried all different types of snacks before bed and not having a snack, it doesn't seem to make a difference.

Higher blood sugars in the am can be a common problem because overnight your liver is producing glucose; sometimes too much for your body to handle. Adding some extra medication can help with this; some doctors even use bedtime long acting insulin in small doses. There are many options, and even some evening exercise may be of benefit.
