Hello,

Thanks for bringing your question to dLife.

Glad that you are interested in planning for a successful pregnancy. With good blood glucose (sugar) control, Moms with diabetes can give birth to healthy babies.

Keep A1c below 7.0 is important. You can achieve this goal by following a meal and exercise plan. No meal or exercise plan? Consider talking with a registered dietitian. He or she can help you incorporate your favorite foods, modify recipes, read food labels, etc. Regular physical activity will also improve your blood glucose control by improving your senstivity to the insulin you are already making.

Getting into a healthful lifestyle is very beneficial. Moms with diabetes tend to experience fewer complications of pregnancy when they are in good blood glucose control.
