Daughter had gestional DM first then 2 months after delivery had emergency appendectomy and sugars continued to elevate more testing was done and diagnosised with Type .1. Also my daughter had viral menginitis at 22. My concern is for my grandchildren. I was wondering if you knew of any trials, genetic studies to help my children and their children in the future.

Have your children talk to their endocrinologists to see if they know of any studies. TrialNet is an international research study where there are many options for your kids and grandkids, so check out the website http://www.diabetestrialnet.org/index.htm
