Hello,

Thanks for bringing yor question to dLife.

Glad that you are making changes in eating habits. The weight loss will definitely help improve your blood glucose (sugar) control.

There is no definition for "mild" form of diabetes. Diagnosis of diabetes is a fasting blood glucose level of 126 mg/dL or higher on two separate days. Blood glucose levels falling between 100 and 125 mg/dL is considered "prediabetes."

The Association of Clinical Endocrinologists recommend target fasting blood glucose be less than 110 mg/dL, 2 hours after meals be less than 140 mg/dL, and your A1c at 6.5% or less.

I recommend that you talk with a registered dietitian. He or she can help you establish a meal and exercise plan that takes into account your lifestyle, food preferences, etc.

Take care.

Please dont be fooled with the term mild diabetes there really is no term like that. What numbers are you getting do you test daily. I If you are obese weight loss and eating right is a great goal. Treat the term mild as if you need to take action now. Without knowing your bs numbers its hard to say what mild is, prediabetes is one term but again not knowing what your numbers are leave a vague idea of what you have. Diabetes in all forms is to be taken very seriously it seems your moving in the right direction.
