Elevated blood sugars cause damage to nerves and blood vessels resulting in the complications we are all familiar with associated with eyes, kidneys, feet, heart disease & high blood pressure. The damage can also affect the blood vessels and nerves all over the body - erectile dysfunction is a common result. The goal is to keep blood sugars in the target range - for most people that is about 100 fasting and less than 140 at other times. You do not say how long you have had diabetes or what your sugars have been. I would encourage you to first discuss this issue with your surgeon due to your prostate surgery. Your symptoms may have nothing to do with your diabetes at this stage. There are also lots of options to help correct this issue. Don't wonder in silence - talk to your doctor!

Unfortunately my husband had the same surgery. His erection became less firm for a long period of time and then the errection basicly ceased. But please be assured your mate will still love you just as much, and you will be able to still enjoy life without sexual contact. For most women , we just want to be kissed and caressed daily and always keep snuggling up. Believe me al we really want is to be treat like a new born baby, always being cuddled with love . What happens now is simply romance form the mouth and heart and sweet suprises and we generaly recipricate. So continue to enjoy life with your mate with genuine love.
