"I have a good eatting plan all low GI, But my a1c has never dropped 6.3 all the time, it was that when I was 207 pounds same at 154. Why no change?"

No meds All diet and fitness. Weights 6 days a week and 2 cardio work outs a day 4o-60mins each, swim or bike or run (I have done 6 tri's this summer)

Thanks for writing dLife. Your weight loss and fitness routine is quite impressive and I can understand your frustration at not seeing your A1c level change. However, it is important to look at other aspects of diabetes management, such as sleeping patterns, stress levels, dental/gum disease and typical food choices. Additionally, in spite of weight loss and exercise levels, if you body is not producing sufficient insulin levels, blood glucose control may still be suboptimal. Your A1c level is at a very good level however, results of your blood glucose testing with your meter can also tell you important and specific patterns of blood sugar fluctuations. Be sure to check your blood sugar levels about 90 minutes after meals to see what results are- this can certainly be an important influence on A1c levels. Be sure to discuss this with your physician, as well as other aspects of diabetes management such as blood pressure, blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels, along with dental, kidney and eye health.
