Dear reader, The first thing I would do if I were in your shoes, is to ask my physician if I could use nicotine patches. There are many hospitals/clinics who sponsor quit smoking classes to give you moral support and help you learn to replace your smoking habits with heathful habits. There may be medications that can be prescribed to help you, as well. You need to discuss your medical history and the availble options with your physician. Good luck and keep on track to quit this habit.

I smoked from the time I was 13 until June 1, 2009 at 9 pm!! I went to a group hypnosis seminar that came to town...worked for me! I had tried everything but laser and accupuncture! I hope you can find something that works for you...It feels awesome to be a non-smoker! Good Luck & God Bless

Keep quiting and never stop, I tried a thousand times during the first years of being type 2. I was able to do the week ends easy but when Monday came around and I had to work .. I started to smoke again, but every weekend or at least most week ends I didnt smoke. I didnt think about the smoking on monday just thought how good it was that every week end I was smoke free. It will be 2 years this January 1st that I stopped smoking :). I did use the patch every week end but the last time after just 3 days I looked at my wife and said.. " My time has come I do not need the patch" I took off the patch and have been smoke free since. keep trying you wont lose till you stop trying.

I used the patch in combination with toothpicks (they kept my hands occupied - my biggest problem). It took me 3x around the bush (finally used the toothpicks & didn't "cheat") and have now been smoke free for 4 1/2 years.

I used the Chantix program two years ago and I am still 'quit'. I found this to work after all the other options failed. Talk with your doctor and see if it'll work for you.
