Doctor told me that I am Pre-diabetic. My A1c was 6.0 %. Morning fasting is always between 110 and 118. Before meals I average 90 to 100. Two hours after meals, I don't go any higher than 140.

Hi vincecatrambone! Thanks for checking in with dLife. Diametrix is a nutritional supplement that is mostly chromium but contains small amounts of other minerals and herbs. I have had no clinical experience with this product. The study results that I found on the internet did not provide what I consider key information. For example, it did not say how many people participated in the study nor did it say if these participants were placed on a diabetes medication during the study period. However, I commend you on taking action since your diagnosis of prediabetes. Your fasting blood glucose readings are above normal. This is often either caused by late evening eating or your liver is putting too much sugar into your blood stream while you sleep and your pancreas is not responding appropriately. Some dietary changes and exercise could help. Some studies have shown that people with diabetes and pre-diabetes might need more chromium. Drinking tap water, eating more vegetables (foods that grow in the ground) are two ways to try to increase your chromium levels. The dLife website has great information on healthy eating and exercise. Check it out and focus on trying to live a healthier lifestyle and keep an eye on those blood sugars.

Hello Jodi Limacher, Thank you for your comments on linking dietary chromium to healthy blood sugar levels. A well respected study out of China and many others support your conclusions. (Anderson RA, et al. Elevated intakes of supplemental chromium improve glucose and insulin variables with type 2 diabetes. Diabetes 1997;46:1786-91) I'm Ken Hampshire, the formulator of DiaMetrix and I hope you will allow me to make some corrections to your comments regarding the clinical study done on DiaMetrix. In 2007, DiaMetrix was subjected to the most rigorous study of any dietary supplement within the industry: a gold-standard, 100-person, placebo controlled, double blind, fully randomized human clinical study. Study participants were chronic type 2 diabetics, between 23 and 50 years old, 47 men and 53 women, and were taking no pharmaceutical remedies for their blood sugar control. They were instructed to make no changes to their diet, activity level or fluid intake for the duration of the study. In short, this study met all requirements of a bona fide research study. Our goal was to measure the effect of DiaMetrix on fasting blood sugar levels, A1c, cholesterol, triglycerides, blood pressure, weight loss, and other biological markers. A complete description of the study, and the 90-day results, have been available for download for over a year on our website. I hope my efforts today have not violated or infringed upon the terms and agreement of the dLife policies. My thanks to you and dLife for your excellent work and advice. Ken Hampshire
