I am craving it! can you help me? My fasting # is 137 instead of 70. Not to bad, could be much worse but it is what it is and I do not want to mess up to bad before I see the doc.

Hi and thanks for writing dLife! Lumpia is a wonderful tasting traditional food in several Asian cultures, and is typically fried in oil for cooking. Thus, lumpia, depending on the size, portions and fillings inside, is a calorie dense food meaning portions needs to be carefully watched, especially if your weight is higher than it should be, or if your blood cholesterol/triglyceride levels are elevated. How your body responds to foods in terms of blood sugar depends on portions, your physical activity level, and other foods that you might eat with it. Even seasonings/sauces that are used in food preparation can make quite a difference. To find out how you can include your favorite foods in your meal plan for diabetes control, meet with a registered dietitian/certified diabetes educator. Our job is to help you enjoy your favorite foods while still working with you and your doctor to optimize your health!
