I am a 49 year old white male with type 2 diabetes. I am currently taking Glucovance 2.5/500 tablets one time daily, Omerprazole 20mg. one time daily, and Ramipril 5mg one time daily. I work out with weights five days a week and want to know if Creatine (which is a muscle building product) will effect my diabetes or interact with my medicines?

Hello 100lt6
I do not recommend taking muscle building supplements. Being diabetic, you are at risk of Kidney Disease. Creatine is metabolized through your kidneys and too much will damage them. Remember that supplements are not regulated as closely as medications and you may not know how pure the supplement is or what side effects may be caused by any of the inert material in the product. I recommend that you only take medications and supplements that are ordered by a doctor that manages your diabetes. Always tell your doctor if you are using any over the counter medicine, supplement or vitamin.
