"Feeling sick and just out of sorts"
Asked By: grobieshir
Category: Type 2

Background Info Hide
I am 58 yrs old and have been a controlled diabetic for several years. Over the last year I joined Weight Watchers lost 25 lbs and kept it off, exercise regularly. My meds were reduced and I was doing fine. Over the last several weeks, my blood sugar has been out of control. High 160's to the high of 276. No rime or reason. The Dr. increased my meds. This last week, my sugars seem to be regulating somewhat but I feel like I've taken pain medication that made me spacey and never took the pain away. I'm out of sorts, feel strange, forget things, just hate how I feel. It's my head, eyes and total being. The only ways to describe the feeling as I did above. Like I'm on drugs that alter my being and make me feel weird. I do not take any medications that would cause this. I watch what I eat and this week, feel so bad I can barely funtion. I go to work, something wonder how I got there. Somehow manage to work, but spacy. The Dr. just tells me to monitor my blood

Did you experience any of these same symptoms before you lost the weight and your medications were reduced? If so, how long did they last? While type 2 diabetes is considered a progressive disease and I'm not really surprised to find your numbers increasing, still there is no reason I am aware of that you should be experiencing such symptoms. I suggest you return to visit with your doctor and request a full work-up. If your doctor is unwilling to do so, that's what second opinions are for! Good luck, and hang in there!
