BMI is a calculation based on height and weight - which you did not include in your information. However - a BMI of 25 is the lowest in the overweight category regardless of height and weight! Just as our portion size perception has become distorted, with the ever increasing percentage of people that are overweight in America, our perception of what "looks" like a healthy weight has also become distorted. Your goal is good blood sugar control and eating a balanced nutritious meal plan along with daily activity. Being overweight makes blood sugar control more difficult with increased insulin resistance and comes with a whole host of risks related to being overweight. Be thankful and stay focused on taking good care of yourself, not what the scale or other people say!
