The American Diabetes Association suggests a blood sugar between 90-130 mg/dl fasting, and under 180 mg/dl 2-hours after meals.
However, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists recommends tighter blood sugar goals--fasting under 110 mg/dl and 2 hours post meals under 140 mg/dl.
Your blood sugar goals should be individualized to meet your needs and goals. I recommend getting control of your diabetes at a slow and steady pace, and keeping it within one of the aforementioned ranges.
