Hi cpeyton! Unfortunately, the information you provided is limited but I'll do my best to answer. Many people with diabetes experience high blood sugar after eating. Some of these people report symptoms of fatigue, hunger, blurry vision, or headache when their blood sugars are high or if the blood sugar is changing dramatically. High blood sugar can also cause weight loss in some people. My suggestion is that you test your blood sugar at least twice daily. Every morning before your first meal and before any medication and alternate the second test two hours after a meal. The American Diabetes Association sets the target range as 90-130 before meals and less than 180 two hours after a meal. Whereas, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologist set the target range as 80-120 before meals and less than 140 two hours after a meal. If you are unsure of which recommendations you should follow call your doctor. If you are finding that your results are regularly out these ranges then I would suggest discussing your options with your physician. A personalized visit with a diabetes educator can also help you problem solve high blood sugars. Good luck and I hope you find the answers you need to acheive good health.
