Dear nasim123, It is hard for me to give you a definite answer since I don't know exactly what a peach water shake consists of. It sounds to me that your brother needs to be referred to a dietitian who has the credential CDE (certified diabetes educator) so he can learn how to assess his diet for carbohdyrate content. He can then look at the nutritional breakdown of the peach shake and determine how it fits into his diet goals. There are classes for people who are diagnosed with diabetes. I would suggest that he ask for a referral to a class in his community so he can learn how to take care of himself, not just about diet, but about many other lifestyle interventions.
