Thanks for writing dLife. It is true that Nutrasweet (aspartame) is a very widely used sweetener for low calorie or diet drinks. Fortunately product labeling is very clear so that you will be able to find out what you are getting with your product choice. Hansen's diet soda is one widely available brand that is made without aspartame and available in a variety of flavors. Otherwise, good choices include plain water which you can flavor with a small amount of 100% fruit juice or slices of fresh or frozen fruit, as well as tea such as black or green tea. Additionally the health benefits of teas are becoming more widely recognized. Adding a small amount of non- aspartame sweetener and chilling in the refrigerator can make this a healthful and refreshing option.

I just found in Publix today that Publix brand drinks in 2 liter bottles diet Coke, root beer, orange and a variety of flavors are made with Splenda. This is wonderful for us who are allergic to Nutrasweet.

Thank you for that info. I didn't even know there was a Pepsi 1. I tried Coke 0 last week and it still gave me a headache after all these years of staying away from Nutrasweet. I make my own iced tea with sweetner, but that gets boring after drinking it so much. Thanks so much. I will try them both. Arizona iced tea and Pepsi 1.
