Hi and thanks for writing dLife. Urinary tract infections, as you know can be very uncomfortable and take time to clear up depending on several factors. Keeping well hydrated, and maintaining good blood sugar control is quite important, as you are doing. However, it is important to check back in with your doctor to discuss these symptoms and find out when you can expect to feel better, as well as to see if there are any other reasons for your discomfort. Additionally, it is a good idea to review your medications with your pharmacist to be sure that you are taking them correctly as well as any side effects that may occur, and estimation of how fast the medication should work. Some infections may respond better to other therapies, but this is a decision that needs to be discussed with your physician based on your symptoms and results of tests showing the status of your infection.
