Dear dLife friend:
I'm sorry about the spider bite. Not fun! Any type of wound can create the risk of inflamation and/or infection, especially in a person with diabetes. At the same time, inflamation may cause the blood sugars to be higher than normal. Make sure you are checking your blood sugars more often and keep the wound dry. If you notice it is getting red, inflamed or has pus on it, please go to the doctor immediately because it may be a sign of infection. Take care!
