"What over the counter medicines should diabetics avoid using?"

My daughter is 9 years old and a Type 1 and i was just told that Bengay is not good for diabetics to use because it burns their skin.What else is not good for her?

Long term use of decongestants (like Sudafed(R)) are not reccommended for patients with diabetes, as they can cause blood sugars to go up if used for more than a few days. You should also avoid cough medications in the liquid form that contain sugar and/or alcohol.
