"I use 3 different meters; a Precision Extra, a One Touch Ultra, and a FreeStyle Lite. How do i know which reading is correct?"

The reading taken at the same time are quite a bit different; ie One touch might read 97 Free style 127 and the Precision 144. All taken at the same time.

Each meter varies from one another by up to 10-15 percent. This is why no matter which meter you use (And they are all good), you should use one type most of the time for consistancy. You could bring the meters into your doctors' office to see which one reads closest to theirs, but actually just keeping to one type is your best bet. They all are quite accurate as a rule. Sometimes a different reading is a result of the time difference or the site blood is taken from (finger or arm).

No meter is going to match another. Meters are a guide and are for sure not perfect. As much as we all love to think those numbers are exact they can vary by as much as 20% per manufacturers info. I try and take my meter ans see how close it is to when I have my blood draw and match it to that. Even if you take blood from the same spot with the same meter the readings wont be exact.
