"My step daughter is 10 y/o, 5 ft. and about 160 lbs. I am concerned she is diabetic, what should her fasting blood sugar level run?"

Her dad and I are very concerned about her weight, but she is only with us every other weekend. Her dad is borderline diabetic, but we are controlling with diet. We have not noticed excessive thirst or unination, but she is extremely moody, craves carbs (and has withdrawals from fast food) when she is with us. I really believe she doesn't want to be with us because we try to control her diet. Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thank you!! Oh.. she also has allergy induced asthma. Her MD says her weight has a bearing on her asthma, but has never mentioned diabetes.

The only way to know would be to take a fasting reading. Just going on the symptoms of being thrirsty wont tell you for sure.
