Yeast infections can be increased when a person has diabetes and higher than recommended blood sugars. Your blood sugars do fall in the range of prediabetes and it is hard to tell whether they are increasing the frequency of the yeast infections. The question on whether or not to take medication is involved and should be discussed with your clinician. What is your A1c result? This will help you decide. When you have prediabetes usually the goal is to keep your blood sugar as close to the "normal" range as possible. That would mean keeping your fasting blood sugar below 100. That is not possible for everyone with meal planning and physical activity. Some clinicians suggest that prediabetes be treated with Metformin, a medication that can lower your insulin resistance and allow your body's insulin to work better. Are you involved in physical activity most days of the week? Have you seen a dietitian to develop a meal plan? I would suggest this course of action first if you have not done so already. You and your clinician need to determine your blood sugar goal first, then you will be able to decide the course of action to follow. Good luck!

I was plagued by yeast infections. My gynecologist recommended acidophilus. I now take 1 tablet twice a day and rarely have yeast infections anymore.
