"My right leg, from knee down, has suddenly become hard, swollen and has a red/purple color to it. What is this? "

Diagnosed less than a year ago. Had knee replacement surgery on that same leg. Still experience 'nerve pain' from replacement surgery (November 2008). Had knee checked by surgeon and it is fine but I don't understand the 'hardness' and size of my leg and foot now.

Dear coachwillie, The condition you are describing of your leg being hard, swollen and red/purple is not normal. I would make an urgent appointment with a vascular physician. You might have blockage of some veins in your legs. This sounds very serious. Don't delay. Make that appointment now and get diagnosed by an expert.
