Dear FierceKitten; Must be incorrect/typo. Recently to the market have been some sugar subs-however, all from the chemistry lab and should be adequately labeled. I wish I had to product to see, but, I would recommend a phone call to the manufacture, (there should be an '800' number). If not you could google the FDA, or handbook No.28 via the USDA to further investigate the contents of this product. (Sorry,I can not be more specific and am giving you more info to investigate). I also want to say "Good JOB" in checking out the carbs(and yes, sugar is a carbohydrate, a simple-quickly absorbed one to boot(: When you check your blood glucose level within the 2 hours after a meal you are measuring the influence of the carbs from that meal. Key here is stay less the 140mg/dl in your excursion after that meal and you will see a great number in your A1C. Thanks for asking dLife and call on us as needed. Keep up the good work, be your best in '09. Regards Sue for YOU!!
