"Will taking Coumadin affect my blood glucose testing and pump insertion in regard to bleeding at the sites or if my toe bleeds."

Dear Hartford: I just answered a similar question and by the name, I think it could have been you as well. To answer your specific question and for information to other readers, the answer is NO. As I said in the previous question, coumadin is frequently used in diabetics and although it does increase the chances of bleeding, having diabetes is not a contraindication for taking it. Yo must pay closer attention to protecting your feet in case of an injury and for this reason we recommend not to walk barefoot, and always use slippers or shoes at home.
