Thanks for writing dLife. This product claims to delay digestion/absorption of dietary carbohydrates which can affect blood sugar levels, but as usual, individual results can vary. A further statement regarding the use of this product with diabetes properly states that one should check with their physician prior to using this product. In gestational diabetes, blood sugar levels are not only affected by the food choices but also by hormonal fluctuations, including insulin deficiency and/or insulin resistance. The key is still to meet with a registered dietitian/diabetes educator for medical nutrition therapy as well as education on blood glucose monitoring and specific blood sugar goals. Even with a well planned diet for gestational diabetes, medication may be necessary for good control and reducing the risks of health problems for the mom and baby
