I have been diagnosed with diabetes this past winter. Could these cramping of the feet be from that? I also have fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis pretty bad.

Dear landry51. Cramps in the feet like you described might be a side effect of a medication. It is likely you are taking other medications than what you have mentioned. I would suggest making an appointment with your physician very soon and discuss this symptom. It may be corrected very easily with an adjustment of a medication. Most people with diabetes don't complain of this symptom, so my guess is that it is being caused by something else.

Landry51 Diabetes does have an affect on your feet and when blood flow is decreased there is often cramping. Since you also have fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis the symptoms could be worse. I would recommend you see a podiatrist for a total foot exam as there could be some damage that has already occurred. It may be necesssary to wear some special shoes or learn some certain exercises. On a side note I would advise you to seek a knowledgeable pharmacist to review all the medications that you have used in the past 2-3 years. It is possible that some of the medications you used for your fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis have increased your glucose levels and a change of meds if possible could really help your glucoselevels improve

When I get cramps in my feet I drink a little bottle of tonic water for relief and count the carbs in it for insulin coverage. It provides effective relief for me.
