Thanks for writing dLife. Your question is very good and very important. Kidney disease is unfortunately a common complication of diabetes. It is hard to say if protein in the urine can be reversed, however it is very important to do all you can to help delay the progression of kidney disease (which is typically described in stages from 1 to 5) Critical aspects of controlling kidney disease progression include blood pressure control, blood sugar control and blood lipid (cholesterol and triglyceride) control. Dietary management is also very important and it would be ideal if you could see out the help of a registered dietitian who has experience in diabetes and kidney disease. Typical diet concerns would include limitations on protein, sodium and sometimes potassium and phosphorus. The diet prescription would be provided by your physician and a dietitian would be able to help you implement and adjust to the important dietary guidelines needed for your individual situation. Be sure to visit your physician on the recommended schedule of visits to keep track of your kidney and diabetes status.

I recently read a study with showed a 40%+ rate of reversal for type 2 diabetics with high daily dosages (300 mg) of vitamin B1. I.m now into my 2nd quarter trying this approach, and had a 10% reduce in protein loss after the 1st 3 months Glenn Warner

That reading can also be caused by high protein or a very active exercise program. Do you use either of these two methods for control of your bs.
