"I have been having joint and muscle pain all over my body for about 3 months and my blood sugar is 160 on avg. Could this be diabetes related?"

I have started on insulin about 2 months ago and my blood sugar is slowly starting to get lower. I have type 2 diabetes. and am 45 year old female

Good Evening Jan; I'm glad the addition of insulin is bring your blood glucose levels down to normal numbers. Is joint pain related to diabetes. Literature from several sources suggest yes, the relationship has been investigated looking at the benefits of exercise and arthritis. The precise mechanism(s) of how exercise reduces symptoms is not fully understood but there are theories. Exercise may increase the levels of neurotransmitters, a chemical from a nerve that transmits nerve impulses. A tailored exercise program has a wealth of benefits to your health with diabetes.
