"It seems every time my Mom eats, a short time later her blood pressure sky rockets (190/ 10). Could she possibly be a diabetic causing her bp to rise"

My Mom has always had high blood pressure since the age of 17. She is now 91. Lately her blood pressure rises after each meal.

When you have diabetes it is your blood sugar that usually rises after a meal, not your blood pressure. I would advise you to take your mother to her physician who can test for the cause of her blood pressure going up after meals. The physician can also test your mother for diabetes, but again, blood pressure rises after a meal are not a typical symptom of diabetes. Good luck.

If you are concerned have the doctor do an a1c test that will tell you if she is a diabetic. Is the food she is eating high in salt content that would raise her bs.
