No need to worry, diabetes is not a disease that you can "catch" from anyone else. It is not like the chicken pox, or Hepatitis, or AIDS or any other disease that can be passed from one person to another. Insulin is a hormone that everyone needs to live. Most of us make our own, but when someone has diabetes, they need to take this medication by an injection. You have insulin in your body as well, but your body makes the right amount that you need to stay healthy. When someone has diabetes they either don't have enough of their own insulin or they can't use their insulin properly.
